Jeeva yoga mats are naturally antibacterial and
antimicrobial, so you won't have to clean them as often as a regular
yoga mat. We recommend washing your mat 1x a month or less, depending on
your yoga activity. Meaning: if you are a super active yogi, wash 1x a month. If you are a less active yogi, wash less.
Hand Wash: In
a tub or basin, place 1 tsp of Jeeva Yoga's soap nut powder in the
cotton pouch provided. In cold water, make a lather and wash by hand.
Rinse off with a hose, making sure to get rid of any extra soap nut.
Place in shade to dry. Do not place in direct sunlight.
Machine wash:
You can wash your mat in a high-efficiency washer that does not have an
agitator in the middle. Place 1 tsp of soap nut powder in the cotton
pouch provided. Use cold water on the hand wash cycle.
In between washes: Wipe the mat down with a damp cloth, then hang to dry.
Warnings: Placing in direct sunlight or washing with commercial detergents will weaken the integrity of our products.
